HIM Scanning SpecialistPerforms clerical duties and technical skills associated with medical record scanning.Responsibilities:Performs document preparation, scanning and indexing of medical records, and audits results for image quality and accuracy.Assembles and maintains complete medical records.Scans medical records accurately and timely.Validates accuracy of scanned documentation.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.The HIM Scanning Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, scanning, indexing, validation, and quality review of patient documentation to ensure records are available within the electronic health record. This role requires strong computer skills and the ability to work across multiple systems including Epic, document imaging applications, and digital workflow tools such as Vyne.Must be adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. Requires frequent movement throughout patient care areas, including extended periods of walking and standing, and transporting a workstation on wheels (WOW) as needed.
