Job Title: Tax Expert - (WFH - Work From Home)

Location: Remote – United States (Needs to be physically present is USA)

Position Type: Seasonal / Flexible Part-Time

Program: Tax Support

Pay Rate: $40/hour on a W-2 basis, with potential flexibility for a higher pay rate based on performance on the online skills assessment.

Active, unrestricted CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Practicing Attorney (JD) credential.

Valid PTIN for the 2027 filing year.

We are looking for credentialed Tax Experts to support Client TurboTax customers through tax preparation and advisory services.

As a Tax Expert, you'll be the primary customer-facing tax professional, helping customers understand their tax situation, reviewing tax returns prepared by other tax professionals, and providing accurate, professional guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for TurboTax customers.
• Conduct customer welcome, review, follow-up, and final outcome calls.
• Review, validate, sign, and file tax returns prepared by other tax professionals.
• Identify errors or missing information and provide clear Notes to Preparer
• Explain tax outcomes and recommendations in simple, customer-friendly language.
• Provide tax advisory support and answer customer tax questions.
• Conduct tax research using reliable online and government resources.
• Communicate with customers through video, audio, and digital platforms.
• Deliver a high-quality customer experience while meeting quality and service expectations.
• Collaborate with back-office preparers and quality-review teams.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Practicing Attorney (JD) credential.
• Minimum 2 seasons of paid tax preparation experience
• Minimum 30 individual tax returns completed per season through preparation and/or review.
• Previous experience with a tax firm, CPA firm, or retail tax preparation environment.
• Valid PTIN for the 2027 tax year.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, Form 1040 and related schedules
• Comfortable reviewing and signing returns prepared by another tax professional.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and advisory skills.
• Ability to explain complex tax information clearly to customers.
• Strong tax research and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using video/audio communication tools in a virtual environment.
• College degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Tax is preferred.

Important: Scheduling Requirements

This program provides schedule flexibility, but it is not an "work whenever you want" opportunity.

Tax operates 7 days a week, from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM Pacific Time.

Candidates must:

• Be available to work any day of the week, Monday through Sunday.
• Commit to approximately 20 hours per week minimum.
• Create and maintain a consistent work schedule.
• Be able to work weekdays and weekends as part of their availability.
• Understand that weekend-only availability is not acceptable.
• Candidates with another full-time job may schedule their Tax hours around their existing work schedule, provided they can meet the program's availability and hour requirements.
